Clutch is a Mcleod performance series so it is a bit heavy.But not too bad on the leg.Rear end is the original 9 inch big block setup so it is a 3.0 gearing which doesn't take full advantage of this engine should have at least 3.70 gears forthis setup but I did want to keep it stock and original. So running a smallblock on this requires a special input shaft bushing that is longer. This engine runs very very cool with the aluminum big block radiator.The trans is the original big block toploader so it does have the shorter input shaft the small block top loaders have a longer shaft. The engine runs strong onthe track and is also very streetable and reliable. I have used the car as a show and track car.

The engine only has about 2000 miles on it if that. I believe I also have the air cleaner as well.The current engine is a small block ford race 302 full roller motor it has the e 303 race cam Edlebrock performer aluminum heads and victor jr intake7qt race oil pan MSD ignition.

The 390 engine has been sitting on an engine stand the whole time so if you plan on putting that back in it will need to be refreshed.But as you can see it has the correct S CODE stampings GT exhaust manifolds and correct 4bbl carb. I have since then always ran smallblock engines in it. The car had a very mild 302 engine in it. It was sitting under a tree covered in leaves here in San Jose area the original engine had beentaken out not sure why but I made sure to bring it when I bought the car. This fastback has been in San Jose all it's life.I believe I am the third owner I purchased car in 1987. Back then S & C Ford was one of the top dealers knownfor high performance vehicles they sold quite a bit of Shelbys and Cobras. finned aluminum pan, which reaches out to a Eord 9 in rear end with a 3.50 posi hidding inside.Exhaust is by way of Hooker competition plus headers, 3 in pipes through Flowmaster mufflers, and electric cut outs.Some other stuff,aluminum radiator with electric fan, and chrome Edlebrock aluminum water pump, line lock, 100 amp chromealternator, power steering, power brakes- front disc, trunk mounted Red Top Optmabattery, all LED lighting. Bored 30 over, mild Comp hydraulic 280 deg 532 lift cam, Edlebrock aluminum 428 CJ heads and Streetnaster 390 single plane intake with Holley Avanger 770 cfm carb, roller rockers, full MSD ignition, and Holley electric fuel pump, compression is 9.7.regular fuel.Trans is a C-6 with shift kit, 2200 stall torque converter, a + 2qt. The Factory radio and heater, clock do not work.The 390 is not numbers matching, it's 1965 model that was professionally machined and prepared. You may have noticed the B&M Quicksilver Shifier, but do notdespair, I have theoriginalconsole and factory T shifter that is in really good shape considering the age. Also had to recently replace theoriginal steering wheel with a look a like. Most of the interior is original with the addition of AutoGauge Tac and gauges, with a AM/FM CD, USB player. The onlychange to the body or frame is the addition of sub frame connectors and drive shaft loops. This car has not been cut or butcheredup. A true FordFairlane GTA S code, not a tribute, with all of theoriginal sheet metal, floor and trunkpans.
